Well it's been a week since I've started my new Detail in Maintenance. I love it. Did a lot of trouble shooting around the airport. Meet a lot of key people. Saw how not to do things . . .

I work mid shift so I spend half my day with the AM guys & the other half with the PM guys. The Spvrsr Frankie has been in training for this past week so I haven't been able to work with him. He comes back Monday & our schedules are almost identical.

The AM guys . . . Pedro is a very good teacher. He makes sure you know how to do everything by the book, then shows you the short cuts you can take but still do it right. (Kinda like doing long vs short division . . . ) He loves the fact that I can catch on quick. Emerson likes to do things half assed. Gee, that might be the reason his areas have the most calls . . . but I digress. He's a good guy but is always talking with everybody. Damian likes to fly solo, says he works faster alone. I believe it. The 1st day he showed me one machine then flew thru the rest. Plus he has to flirt with anything with a vagina.

The PM guys . . . Tony has been acting Lead since the Spvsr has been out. He's gotten REALLY comfortable in that position & has been taking every advantage he can (Needless to say the guys want to kill him). Mark . . . well, if you've been reading my LJ, you already know about Mark. He's been good since I started Maintenance. He keeps everything very professional. He's like Pedro (takes time making sure you understand everything) & since we're already comfortable with each other it makes teaching/learning easier.

Well, tonight Tony decided to take the night off at the last minute . . . leaving me alone. I talked to Frankie & was told not to worry but I'd be alone tonight. (He's a tad pissed at Tony.) I said I'd be ok & would call if needed. I got a text from Mark around 1300 just asking how things were going. I sent him one back explaining I was working solo & got a call back. Basically saying he'd come in to help me out. I reminded him that Frankie wasn't authorizing any OT. "I don't care about the OT. I think this is a fucked up way to prove a point & it's not fair to you. I'll be there soon."

I got a couple of easy calls before Mark showed up. Finished them real quick. Once he got to the office we went over a few of the equipment manuals & some trouble shooting tips. Grabbed a quick bite, had a few smokes down on the ramp, went back to the office then talked a bit more. At one point I did get cornered & slightly felt up. I behaved myself & stopped it before it went any further.

Right now all I can think about is a threesome with the one waiting for me at home & the one that pressed me up against the wall at work . . .

The concert was fucking amazing! Billy Joel rocks! He played a few of his biggest hits, but the show was more on songs that didn't make a greatest hits album. "Say Goodbye to Hollywood", "Where's the Orchestra?", "Sleeping with the Television On" ... you could definitely tell the fans that only got the "Greatest Hits". The man knows how to put on a show! I wanted to go to the show last Saturday (1/7/06), but found out about it too late. J pulled a few strings & got us tickets to the second show (1/15/06). My ex called this morning to see how the show went. I didn't hear the phone, J answered & gave his review. A few years ago I was supposed to see Billy Joel with my ex ... I ended up having to work that morning & got violently sick before the show. He ended up taking his "friend" to the show. J came over that night & kept me company between my frequent visits to the bathroom. I should have seen it then how much J cared, but I was still wrapped up with trying to be a good wife ... plus I was sick! Not a day goes by without me realizing little things J has done or said. I am extremely lucky!

I didn't get much sleep last night, not like I ever do ... I got out of bed pretty early this morning and got ready to go to the funeral service for my Boss's mom. My boss, Mark, has been there for me throughout the past year. There was no way I was not going to be there. Sitting through the service I remembered how I felt when my dad passed back in January 1999. Everything came back in a rush ... I almost had to leave early, but I stayed to support Mark. Then I started thinking about my life. Would I have this many people at my funeral? Would the people that did show up be actual friends or just passing acquaintances? Did I live my life or someone else's idea on how my life should be? What impact, if any, did I have? How much of a front did I put up? How many times did I act strong & unshakable, but was screaming & crying on the inside? What was my purpose? Why am I here? Too many questions that I can't even begin to answer. Hopefully I've made some difference in the lives of others. Hopefully I'm living ...

Just have a few moments before J & me go out. He's been pretty secretive about tonight's plans. Just promised that it wouldn't involve my ex, but will involve alcohol! I like the surprises but hate the waiting! I'm terrible! I've been trying to find any hints on what's tonight's plans. Now I'm locked in the computer room until he says I can come out.
